From Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, Málaga, Spain hosted Rail Live, an international exhibition that highlighted advances in new railway system technologies. Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division and Geosystems division presented a wide variety of solutions, including:
- HxGN Mass Transit, a dynamic solution for visualising and managing assets with an actionable digital twin of public transit networks
- HxGN Connect, a cloud-native, real-time incident center solution that helps you attain full situational awareness, collaborate on shared data and better manage incidents
- Leica Pegasus TRK, an advanced laser scanning and expandible imagery system that utilizes AI capabilities to transform mobile mapping
The first day included presentations by experts on different industry aspects. Hexagon’s Dr. Uwe Jasnoch presented “Digital asset management for light rail: Beyond the normal.” The presentation piqued many attendees’ interests and started many meaningful conversations.
The conference allowed for extensive networking and included insightful keynotes by local and national administration representatives, who showed support for the companies in the sector and highlighted the importance of the tools commercial companies are using to advance decarbonization and decrease emissions of transport, their “big priority.”
Putting the spotlight on this priority, both innovation and liberalization and railway network development are imperative paths to promote modal change. These paths offer higher quality transport and service.
The exhibition highlighted all rail solutions as one chain, from sensors to end applications.
