Launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, India’s Smart Cities Mission is a multi-year effort to boost economic development, technological innovation, and sustainable growth across 100 cities.
As part of the mission, India’s government created requirements to guide how cities deliver smarter public utilities, sanitation, transportation, law enforcement, and emergency services. Underpinning the successful delivery of these smarter services are information communication technologies – much like the Smart and Safe City solutions offered by Hexagon.
Recently Manoj Pandit, country manager for Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure in India, participated in the “Decoding Smart Cities” panel discussion for The Economic Times. In this video, Manoj Pandit discusses the value of data sharing, limitations of technology standardization, implementing best-of-breed technologies, and longer-term approaches to building smarter and safer cities across India.
If you want to learn more about Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s Safe City solutions and technologies, we will be hosting a webinar title, “Better Resilience with Coordinated Action and Multi-Agency Cooperation,” on August 16, 2018. The webinar focuses on capabilities in India and across the Asia-Pacific region.
