If you weren’t at HxGN LIVE this month, you missed an action-packed week of hands-on product training, breakout sessions, networking, technology demos, and an exciting announcement about the future of public safety.
Personally, this was my fourth HxGN LIVE experience – and the best one yet.
I can’t put everything you missed into a single blog post, but I can give you the highlights.
Here are 10 things you missed last week at HxGN LIVE
1. The Next Generation of Public Safety Solutions
During his keynote address, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure President Steven Cost launched HxGN OnCall, a comprehensive portfolio of public safety software with modernized capabilities spanning call-taking and dispatch, records, analytics, major event management, and mobility. 2. The Foundation of a Smart Utility Enterprise
The Smart Infrastructure track focused on the five foundational pillars of a smart utility enterprise: network model management, operational systems, enterprise resource planning, workforce management systems, and customer engagement.
3. Hours of Hands-on Product Training
Hexagon customers participated in dozens of hours of hands-on product training throughout the week – and left Las Vegas better equipped for their jobs.
4. Car Crash in The Zone
The Zone, Hexagon’s 120,000-square-foot technology expo, was full of exciting things this year. We even made a building in the exhibit hall, then crashed a car into it to demonstrate our public safety solutions in action. Need to see it to believe it? View the photos here.
5. Remote Control Obstacle Course
Speaking of cool things in The Zone, attendees got to experience our geospatial solutions first-hand by navigating an on-site obstacle course with remote control cars.
6. Two-Steppin’ at Gilley’s
Safety & Infrastructure track attendees took some time to unwind Wednesday night at Gilley’s Las Vegas, the local western watering hole. There was fantastic food, line-dancing, mechanical bull riding, and rubber ducks. (Yes, I said rubber ducks.)
7. Partner Technologies for Building Smarter Cities
Sponsors are always an integral part of HxGN LIVE. This year, several partner companies shared their technologies for building smarter, safer cities.
8. Really Awesome Swag
Who doesn’t love free stuff? HxGN LIVE 2019 attendees left Las Vegas with some great – and environmentally conscious – new swag, including reusable water bottles, buttons, bandanas, and 4ocean bracelets made with recycled plastic from the ocean and coastlines.
9. Conference Competitions
QR codes to scan, sessions to save, surveys to complete, statuses to update, posts to like – the HxGN LIVE mobile app packed a lot of punch this year. And several conference attendees won cool gifts, like Apple AirPods, by joining in-app competitions.
10. Not-So-Little LED Drummer Boys
How do you launch a new portfolio with the style and fan-fare it deserves? By employing the rhythmic-expertise of an LED drumline, of course. Watch the awesomeness here.
