Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure Receives Award of Excellence from NAV CANADA

Me accepting NAV CANADA’s Supplier Award of Excellence from Daniel Bouchard, manager of Contracting Services for NAV CANADA.

Last week in Ottawa, Ontario, I was on hand to accept NAV CANADA’s Supplier Award of Excellence. The award recognizes suppliers that have provided outstanding support to the organization in the past year. This is Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s third key supplier award from NAV CANADA, the private sector company that owns and operates Canada’s civil air navigation system.

In 2014, Hexagon received the same award for NAV CANADA’s use of GeoMedia Professional to validate and produce visual flight rules (VFR) chart series. The new award recognizes our technology’s performance and continued support on the VFR efforts as well as helping with NAV CANADA’s new GIS Data Management System (GDMS) project.

The GDMS will provide NAV CANADA the technical capabilities to evaluate, integrate, manage, and distribute electronic terrain and topographical information using commercial-off-the-shelf software products and configured software components, which includes GeoMedia, ERDAS APOLLO, and Geospatial SDI software. GDMS is a spatial database to support aeronautical information systems and is intended to be the authoritative source of geographic information for NAV CANADA’s aeronautical applications.

Since 1996, Hexagon has partnered with NAV CANADA to support the organization’s mission and vision. We are honored to be recognized again and look forward to working with NAV CANADA on future charting and spatial data management solutions.
